Roald Dahl, a Norwegian born British novelist was an acclaimed writer, poet, screenwriter , who also wrote short stories that appealed to children and adults alike. He was also a fighter pilot in World War II and having had first-hand experience, he often drew inspiration from wars for his book. Some of his famous books are ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’, ‘My Uncle Oswald’, Fantastic Mr Fox, Tales of the Unexpected and ‘James and the Giant Peach’ among others. Dahl was born in 1916 and died in 1990.
